Weekend Recap 🏀⏪

Fox’s Historic Heater
De’Aaron Fox made history this weekend with a two-day scoring spree, totaling 109 points against the Utah Jazz and another 60-point performance, the most in a single game this season. His back-to-back 49 and 60-point games are the second-most in the last 50 years, just behind Kobe Bryant’s legendary 110-point feat. Fox’s offensive explosion has made the Sacramento Kings one of the most exciting teams to watch this year.

LeBron & The Lakers Stay Red-Hot
LeBron James continues to defy age, leading the Lakers to their fifth straight win with a clutch 3-pointer against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 39-year-old also just became the oldest player in NBA history to record four consecutive triple-doubles. With LeBron playing at an MVP level, the Lakers are clicking, and this win keeps them in the hunt at the top of the Western Conference.

Tatum’s OT Buzzer-Beater
Jayson Tatum lifted the Boston Celtics to a thrilling 111-109 victory over the Toronto Raptors with a last-second stepback 3-pointer in overtime. Tatum's heroics capped an emotional back-and-forth game that saw both teams exchange leads, but Tatum’s calm under pressure proved once again why he’s one of the top players in the league.

Cavs Make History
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been on an absolute tear, running their win streak up to a historic 15-0—the best start in the franchise's history! This has been a full-team effort, with stars like Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland leading the charge, and the Cavs are clearly looking like the team to beat in the East. But the fun doesn't stop there. On Tuesday, they’re set to face off against the Boston Celtics in what’s shaping up to be a massive showdown. With both teams sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference, this game could be a big statement for whoever comes out on top.

Randle’s Buzzer-Beater Lifts Timberwolves

Julius Randle delivered a clutch game-winner for the Timberwolves against the Phoenix Suns. With just 2.7 seconds left and the score tied at 117, Randle received the inbound pass, shook off a defender, and hit a three-pointer at the buzzer. He finished with 35 points and led Minnesota’s 16-5 run to close the game after trailing by 8 with 4 minutes to go. The win marked his third career game-winner, a moment Randle credited to coach’s trust in him.

Around the NBA

Brunson’s Late Heroics
Jalen Brunson’s clutch 3-pointer with just 6.2 seconds left helped the New York Knicks edge the Brooklyn Nets in a tightly contested match-up. The 124-122 win marked the first of two victories for the Knicks over the Nets this weekend, and Brunson’s steady hand was key to the team’s success.

Rockets Show Fight
Despite a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Houston Rockets showed strong fight, with Alperen Sengun continuing to impress in the post-James Harden era.

Magic Keep Streak Alive
The Orlando Magic won their sixth straight game, with standout performances from their young stars. They’re quietly climbing the ranks in the East and could be a dark horse as the season progresses.
